The site is online since December 20th, 2009. There are still some areas to be improved, enhanced or created. As a result, some errors might occur or some of the funtions might not be working yet. Doorcracker is a browser game based on solving riddles. There are many locked doors that need to be opened. There are three different types of doors: Doors: Registered as well as unregistered users can play doors. The first 15 doors gradually become more and more difficult. Of yourse – everyone might evaluate this differently. There is no obligatory order to solve these doors, which means that if you are stuck with one Door, you can try another one. Beginning with number 16, the degree of difiiculty of all the Doors varies. In future, many new Doors will be added, so sometimes they might be easier and sometimes more difficult. Secret Doors: Secret doors can only be played by registered users and cannot be selected directly like Doors. They are hidden somewhere on the site and are not easy to find. Fortresses: A fortress can only be entered by a registered user. In addition, there is a minimum level that you need to have achieved. You can enter the first fortress on level 3. You get XP (experience points) for every Door, Secret Door and Fortress you have solved. With these XPs you can reach the next higher level. There is another possibility to gain XP. Magnifiers: Magnifiers can only be found by registered users. Just like the secret doors, magnifiers are hidden all across the site and provide you with XP. Registration on Doorcracker is totally free! To register you only need a name (maximum 10 letters), a password and an email address. There is an option to enhance you information later on, if you want to.
